A great mod! You've turned it into a useful little counter at a modest price. <£30 for a neat and functional counter that can upload to Radmon is cool.

I got this counter plugged into MQTT and saving to MySQL database.    https://www.schmoozie.co.uk/yrg01/

I need to take the HV off of that page, but aside that nothing more to do now. I'll have to find a home for it somewhere in the house, and just let it sit.

Every room in your house must have a little gadget clicking away by now :-)
That counter is doing just what you expect, count values look OK.

Haha. Actually, no. I have a counter outside and all of the others are in my office. This one is sat right in front of me on my desk. I may move it somewhere and run it on USB. Give it a good long soak test to see how it does. And yes, it is doing exactly as I expect. For £27, yes, just the measly sum of £27  and a bit of hackery pokery it has turned out to be a really good little counter. I like it, except it's looks. But then I haven't really seen any modern counters that look nice. Except homebrew counters, and that includes none of mine!   Just one thing left to do now, and that is to measure the current consumption. Adding the ESP8266 will have increased the power consumption somewhat. I't would be handy to know by how much, and is the low power mode really around 11mA?

My 2nd YRG01 landed today, so I have a modified version and an original, untouched version. Though, since I can turn the ESP8266 on and off with the BLE setting, I'm really tempted in modding this one too. But then I'll have to buy another to keep original. Maybe I should buy another 4 or 5 and as Chris suggested I already had, put one in every room at home! I could have one on my desk at work, maybe. It's just such a great little counter for very little money.

OK, so I ordered one to play with :-) I have plenty of redundant 8266s to destroy in the process of copying your excellent mod! Counter will come in handy for telling me when the sun is out.

Order is telling me it might not arrive until 2nd June? How long did yours take to arrive? I'm still waiting on delivery of my laser cutter which has been sat in a Chinese airport warehouse for more than a week.
